This certified organic cotton comes from Texas cotton farms. It is a 4-ply sport weight. This yarn is custom spun in a twist that makes the cotton exceptionally soft. It is a perfect baby knit yarn because there are no chemical dyes and it machine washes and dries beautifully. An earth-friendly, low impact dye process is used to make a classic baby colors for blankets and baby garments such as hats, sweaters, and bootees.

Some Appalachian Baby patterns recommend a larger needle to keep the knit stitches loose and then tightened when washed and dryed.
