Shepherd's Wool Yarn Worsted by Stonehedge - Fillory Yarn

Shepherd's Wool Yarn is made from a wonderfully soft Merino top in a family owned mill in northern Michigan. Merino is the softest of sheep's wool.

The three ply worsted weight yarn is spun to 1000 yards per pound, which in 4-ounce skeins is 250 yards per skein. The 3 ply fingering weight is spun to 2300 yards per pound, which in a 1.6 ounce skein is 230 yards per skein. This yarn is worsted spun, meaning it’s very very smooth and almost shiny in appearance. It will give great stitch definition for intricate patterns such as lace, cables, and knit/purl patterns.

Shepherd’s Wool also felts very well, including the white, so you can be confident your knit and felted projects will be great. Shepherd’s Wool comes in many great colors.

Care: hand wash, do not agitate. However, if you want to felt this yarn, do get it wet in warm water and agitate to felt it.
