Interpretations are yearly collections by knitwear designers Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki.

We’re delighted to offer the seventh volume of this much-loved series by Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki, two extraordinarily talented knitwear designers who just happen to be great friends!

This year is the first that the dreamy duo haven’t been able to get together to shoot the pattern photography for Interpretations.  Due to travel restrictions, Joji and Veera shot their patterns in their respective homelands of Argentina and Finland. However, we think this volume is just as cohesive as its predecessors and truly reflects the year that 2020 has been, not to mention all the hard work Joji and Veera put into this volume during a global pandemic!

Each collection uses 6 words for inspiration and each designer creates a rendition of this word. The result is a fascinating arrange of knitting projects, from small accessories to complex sweaters, suitable for all levels of expertise.

The six words Joji and Veera chose for this iteration of Interpretations are Wonder, Root, Wild, Natural, Beyond, & Light!

If you’re new to the Interpretations series, let us explain! At the centre of each volume are six words, and Joji and Veera create one design each based on their interpretation every word. This innovative approach to design has resulted in some beautiful patterns which are imbued with meaning, and just so happens to combine Pom Pom’s passions of words and knitting!
